Back To The Wonderful Land of LCF

Throughout a long summer holiday, i am back at uni starting a new project which is Fashion Forecasting & Brand development for AW 14 & SS 15. In which we are to choose a company and look intensely at their target customer, brand positions, USP, core values and characteristics. In which to achieve and develop a brand extension or brand stretch for that company in a 3000 word report.

"Branding is not just about individual products, but creates an identity for the company, for consumers, as well as for those who work within the organisation. Branding creates a vision for the company. "
Hancock, J. 2009. Brand/story. New York: Fairchild Books.

This unit includes extensive use of blogging our ideas, research, and discussions throughout our lectures & seminars. Aswell as GANTT charts to illustrate the timeline of marketing activities and customer mood boards and pen portraits to build our own ideas of the brand we have chosen. I have found looking at WGSN, businessoffashion, trendwatching and style.com a great source to begin my research into the brand i am aiming to base my project on.

Nottinghill With Love

I do apologise that lack of any posts in the past year or so? I have started uni in London studying Fashion Design. And to be honest, completely forgot about posting on here. But i am back. And it is my end of summer resolution to carry on posting!

The other day my girl Chelsea and I went to Nottinghill to explore the wonderfull little Boutiques, shops and gelato cafes. Oh and ofcourse the wonderful Portobello Market.  Firstly visiting Sabastiano Barbagallo that sells a beautiful collection of antiquities from Tibet, Chine and India. I am honestly say i can spend all day in that wonderful shop. There are so many hidden little treasures that you can take your eyes away from searching around for beautiful old shop. I have bought i few little jewellery pieces from here.. which always reminds me of being back in markets in Bali.

Walking along Portobello we came to the one and only Gelato Mio, where i was desperate to get Gelato after i am pineing after Italy at the moment, we had some wonderful Italian Gelato here. Which i must recommend trying the Watermelon sorbet on a hot day. They sell a wide selection or scrumcious Gelato ranging from biscotti, coconut, hazelnut, blueberry, pistachio to the one and only cookies & cream.

Walking down Portobello road with our watermelon and biscotti gelato we found some wonderful finds on Portobello Market. Fabulous antique teacups and china sauces in delicate pale pinks, blue and cream which would go beautifully well with macaroons from Laudree. I would very much suggest going to Nottinghill on a Saturday when the whole of Portobello is packed with stalls, even though it is full of tourists.. It gives you the Nottinghill vibe of

unique stalls selling the most crazy wackiest
paintings to the beautiful stalls full of pearls, beads and venetian masks. Including a table full of antique cutlery.

I was wearing pretty much everything from Topshop as always..
Denim Jacket- Topshop
Yellow top- Topshop
Shirt- Topshop
Shoes- Topshop
Bag- Michael Kors
Jewellery- Tiffany, Italy, Bali, Thomas Sabo, Markets

Yellow Shoes Down Under..

Apologies on the very late post.. Been very busy. However i am now in the beautifully hot and sunny Australia. The packing to come here was a challenge.. when folding and packing my clothes you realize the amount is pretty stupendous.. no wonder it was a work out to actually fit another item on clothing into my overflowing wardrobe. And of course i had to fit my Minnie teddy that i was given from the wonderful Jessie for a au revoir present.
But i am here..My 20 laps every morning in the wonderful pool, and sun bathing in the sun. Not missing the cold wintering England! Although, Topshop is always in the back of my mind.. I have been here for 6 days now and i have got over my jet lag thank goodness, i hate being tired! The flight went well, i actually managed to get on the right planes..and not end up in in somewhere totally opposite to Australia (north pole maybe?) I do so love duty free bought Chloe Love perfume and a beaautiful Top from Zara which i will show you in my 'Purchases Already' post.
Now its time to wear my summer clothes once again.. Unpacking my long flowing maxi dresses, embellished beaded sandles and cotton floral tops. I do so love the summer months. And to wear my Topshop grey viscose flowing fairy tale skirt with Zara white vest, in the hot sun by the pool as you can see. Is much better than Ugg boots and skinnys in the cold fields of Derby. Oh the joy of an Australian summer.

Oh and of course Australian Vogue has been bought.

Valentino Spring 2010 Ready-To-Wear Paris

A petit section from my Valentino Personal Response that i wrote for my AS Textiles.
Looking at the dresses from this collection gives me a sense of stepping into a secret garden that becomes a very stylish fairy tale. I love the fact that throughout the collection the colours are pale and subtle which enhances the style of each dress that Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have designed for this collection. In some of the garments you can see that there have been pearls, diamonds and feathers added which demonstrates eveningwear rather than just a ‘ready-to-wear’ day wear collection. As well as these beautifully flowing dresses gliding down the runway, the shoes that have been accessorized to these fairy tale garments are so sensational with lace delicately flowing up one models ankle and light pink petals on another models shoe. They coordinate and enhance every piece.00190m.jpgunknown.jpgbeen used in parts of the garments. I would like to bring these in to my final design, to show this “delicate” feel by using light delicate fabrics. The romantic soft tones of nude, rose, lavender, gold and grey with “swirling organza” around the body, beautifully tied off with a luxurious flamboyant bow, show a very contrasting side to the other collections that I have been looking at. I have made some samples that relate to this collection as well as produced and drawn a range of flowers in various fabrics to represent the petals that have

J'aime le Rouge.

I am at a loss, as i have nothing to do- work was canceled. So i decied to dress up.. in red. What do you think? Pretty much everything is from Topshop. As you will find out throughout my up coming posts that my whole wardrobe is Topshop. I should have shares in the company. So yes, my red dress bought about 3 months ago for my leavers day party.
My shoes Tan with a block wood heel, which i love to wear with skinny jeans. Nail varnish (always wearing red at the moment) War Paint £5 a must to buy. And red lipstick Rio Rio- It makes me feel invincible. I would defiantly recommend.
Personally, wearing anything red will make me feel great. As my confidence has never been amazing.
And if you want to feel better in yourself.. this colour is defiantly the way to go.Looking at buying this beautiful Chanel nail varnish in colour Dragon or Pirate. Also these stunning shoes from Topshop.. i hate having to save. But maybe once i get to Australia, i will purchase these tremendous shoes.. to congratulate myself on actually making it there without ending up in the wrong country.

p.s Oh and on the subject of red. Personally Valentino is one of the most amazing and inspirational designers of our time. And this photo illustrates his talent and beauty with Model Natalia Vodianova from Vogue.com.

Bonjour.

I thought i would start a petit blog. Of what inspires me and what i find interesting in my day. I am traveling to Australia to live in Adelaide with my family for a few months                                                          to work and to do a petit travelling, before i start at London College of Fashion next September to study Fashion Design and Marketing. And Today i bought a couple beaautiful bright red Antler suitcases, to keep safe all my clothes while traveling over Europe, India and
South East Asia. Stopping over in Singapore for three hours.. which i am so excited about as the shops are fabulous in the airport. The thing i am mainly worrying about, is that i will get side tracked in a shop and miss my flight..
My small suitcase i will take on as hand luggage with my Apple Mac laptop (Annie), Vogue of-course, Fashionary sketch book which is amazing.. so many dresses to design..which is always in my handbag, wearing Topshop nail varnish and beautiful Chloe perfume. And of-course my ipod and passport.
Checked the baggage allowance 23kg.. only. The additional baggage allowance prices on flights are ridiculous.. i can't help it that i have a lot of clothes..
